Fundraising

Donations make small dreams turn into big realities.
Dear HTHI Families,

Welcome to the annual High Tech High International (HTHI) Parent Association (PA) Fundraising Campaign, called International’s Future Fund (IFF)!

What is the HTHI PA Fundraising Campaign, which provides critical support to enrich our students' learning?
The International Futures Fund (IFF) is High Tech High International’s Parent Association fundraising campaign to support our school.  This fundraising campaign supports the programs that make High Tech High a unique, world-renowned educational experience (have you watched Most Likely to Succeed, a documentary about the HTH approach?) – things like college tours and classroom projects. It is a direct investment in each of our students’ futures.

Why do we need the IFF?
Our school's budget is tight. Once the basics are covered – salaries, facilities, classroom furniture – very little is left for the very things that make HTHI a top-tier high school – internships, externships, special projects, immersion week, college tours.

Each Year the HTHI PA works hard to raise money to DIRECTLY support our students in each and every grade. The money we raise makes a critical difference in our student's educational experience!

What will IFF fund this year?
HTHI International’s Future Fund provides funding for a variety of projects and educational activities at every grade level. There is so much enrichment that is possible for HTHI students with this support. This year our top priorities are….

FIELD TRIPS AND COLLEGE VISITS for every grade level:
  • This year each grade level will be planning fun excursions – opportunities to be in the community, seeing how their learning relates to the real world. The students will visit and explore colleges and go on field trips that relates to their coursework.
  • Each grade also plans special field trips to tour colleges throughout California!  This is such a highlight for each and every student at HTHI and even a small donation is so incredibly helpful in creating these college tour experiences for HTHI students.

PROJECT MATERIALS, TECHNOLOGY AND SUPPLIES:
  • THIS LIST IS LONG! It includes updating technology and enriching project materials needed to allow our children to have amazing hands-on experiences creating projects. Materials and tools are needed to build the amazing projects that you see at the exhibitions held throughout the year.

Help us reach our GOAL that all High Tech High International Families support the school

We are grateful for ANY AND ALL donations ($5, $10, $20, $60, $100, or more)!

Your donation is tax deductible and makes a meaningful difference in your student’s educational experience!

The fundraising goal is $30,000 -- about $100 a student. Please know that no donation is too small or too big… and ANY AND ALL donations are appreciated.  For example, instead of buying a coffee/tea once in a while and you donated the equivalent $5/month to the IFF campaign, that would be $60 for this school year - and that would go such a long way to supporting the students.

We also very warmly welcome support for HTH International in a wide variety of ways.  We can't do any of this enriching work without the valuable volunteers who help out with the HTHI PA.  Volunteering in support of your student's school also makes such an important difference and there are so many ways to get involved, from one-time events, to time limited planning, to ongoing roles.  The richness of this school community rests in the richness of the families that make up our village!  Please email HTHI-PA Communications at hthipa@gmail.com to find out more.  We are so grateful for the opportunity to volunteer together in support of our fabulous school!

Thank you so much for supporting HTH International!! Your participation is greatly appreciated!

2017 Spring Exhibition

Thank you to all the parents, students, teachers and others who attended, presented and helped at the 2017 Spring Exhibition last night. Besides the awesome projects and meeting lots of new incoming 9th grade families, the Parent Association sold a whopping 741 tacos and half our inventory of tshirts! Our community raised $786 which goes directly back into the school to fund programs like Immersion week, teacher appreciation lunches and more. If you would like to volunteer with the Parent Association next year, please email us at hthipa@gmail.com or plan to attend the monthly meetings held on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 8:30am in the main commons.  Have a safe and happy summer! See you on the first day of school Monday August 28th

Note to Darcy Aug 21 2011 from June

Darcy - I've put different notes for you on the different screens. For the new website post to see you need to scroll down a lot. Do not erase or overwrite any POSTS - it's okay to do that to the PAGES. If you copy and paste from WORD or another web screen it's important to remove the formatting I put notes in the pages for you. Just leave the Events and Calendar pages alone for now... There are links to the other school PA sites on the left side of all the screens - click and see what they are doing. If you can get headshots of your board, please send to me! And as before, please do not change or give away the password - but if you do just send to me so it's on file and I know who has it! If someone else needs to be adding things to the site you can click on Settings then Permissions and send them an invitation - then when they post it will be on their name. : ) June
